What is the transportation service most used by tourists?
The transportation service called “colectivo” is usually preferred by travelers who go alone or as a couple, since it is cheaper but at the same time safe as it is an authorized taxi with a fixed rate. They are white taxis shared between several people to lower costs. It represents the regular taxi fare (about 23 USD) but is divided among the passengers (up to 4 people). In the case of going as a family, both the bus and the regular taxi have the same rate and either of the two options are valid.
What is the cheapest transportation option?
The Combuses company provides public bus service (called busetas) from the José María Córdova airport to Medellín and vice versa. It is the most economical option, although the least comfortable and safe. The cost of a single ticket is 10,500 COP and you can buy it directly from the driver. Learn more
